Anthem for the Millennium (America, My Home!)©

The "Goosebump"- Evoking Patriotic Anthem of Our Time

Composed at the turn of the new millennium, America, My Home!© is one of the most heartwarming and most inspirational patriotic songs ever written, and the first true patriotic anthem in nearly twenty years.  It is a timeless piece that touches the heart.  Hundreds report it has given them "goosebumps."  Initially performed to a cheering crowd on Memorial Day, 2000, the song gained popularity after the attacks of 9-11 when a regional television station paired the song with a video montage of the historic events.  Since then it has touched the hearts of audiences totaling over one million through public performances, radio airplay, and other venues.

While working on a book about the interdependence of freedom and character, Dr. George Simon experienced a rekindling of his own patriotic spirit.  He scored a melody that had been haunting him for nearly 7 years, and together with his wife, Dr. Sherry Simon, penned the straight-from-the-heart lyrics of the song.

America, My Home! is the title song on Country Music Showdown National Champion Rick David Tripp's mini CD Anthems for the Millennium available through Amazon.com.  Tripp's rich baritone voice and faithful interpetation of the song has moved many to tears and standing ovations during live performances.  The "goosebump"- evoking arrangement is by Nashville-based producer Jonathan Joyner. The marvelous tenor Eric Saunders has also recorded a version of the song, which can be ordered through this website.  Eric's faithful treatment of the song has resulted in requests for him to repeat church performances on Independence Day nearly every year since the song debuted.  Jonathan Joyner's stirring orchestral arrangement is again featured on this CD.  Hear it by clicking the icon below.

The lyrics for both versions of Anthem For the Millennium (America, My Home!) are printed for your convenience below.

Version 1 (popular CD version) Lyrics

I have seen the torch of freedom pass from hand to yearning hand
And the vision of our fathers spread hope throughout this land
As the dream some fought and died for in my heart, becomes my own
I will strive to keep her promise, America, my home!

America!, America! May God bless America!
And freedom reign across America, my home!

From the shorelines to the prairies to the cities, great and small
We have reaped the fruits of justice and liberty for all
So with deep appreciation for the blessings we have known
I will honor her forever, America, my home!

America!, America! May God bless America!
And freedom reign across America, my home!

America!, America! May God bless America!
And freedom reign across America, my home!
May freedom reign across America, my home!

Version 2 (full orchestral version) Lyrics

I have seen the torch of freedom pass from hand to yearning hand
And the vision of our fathers spread hope throughout this land
As the dream some fought and died for in my heart, becomes my own
I will strive to keep her promise, America, my home!

From the shorelines to the prairies to the cities, great and small
We have reaped the fruits of justice and liberty for all
So with deep appreciation for the blessings we have known
I will honor her forever, America, my home!

America!, America! God bless this land I love!
May He keep, protect, and guide her through centuries unknown
God keep, protect, and guide her, America, my home!

America!, America!, my home!
